The setup wizard guides you through everything a certificate needs, one screen at a time. In each step you choose something you already have or create it on the spot, and at the end you link it all to a course. It takes about 5 minutes.
Available to organization Admins.
Start the wizard
- 1Open Certificates → Overview.
- 2In the setup card, click Set it up step by step. If certificates are already configured, the button is called Configure another assignment.
At the top of the wizard you see the four steps: Signature, Registry, Template and Assignment. Steps marked Optional can be skipped.
Step 1: Signature
- 1Click Choose an existing one and tick an instructor signature, or click Create a new one and fill in the form. In Create a new one mode there is no Next: the form's own save button saves the new record and moves you to the next step.
- 2Click Next. If the certificate should not show an instructor signature, click Skip for now.
Step 2: Registry
- 1Choose an existing registry type or create a new one. The registry type sets the certificate number format, for example
NWL-BHP/2026/112. In Create a new one mode there is no Next: the form's own save button saves the new record and moves you to the next step. - 2Click Next, or Skip for now. Without a registry type, certificates are issued without a number.
Step 3: Template
- 1Choose an existing certificate template or create a new one by uploading a PDF. In Create a new one mode there is no Next: the form's own save button saves the new record and moves you to the next step.
- 2Click Next. This step is Required — it cannot be skipped.
Step 4: Assignment
- 1At the top, check the elements chosen in the previous steps. Click Change to go back to one of them.
- 2Choose Link to a course and select the course, or Without course if you will issue certificates manually.
- 3Fill in the certificate content: title, description, validity and, if you use them, duration and professional development points.
- 4Click Create the assignment and finish.
The last screen confirms that certificates are configured. From there you can open See the assignments, Open the certificate registry or Configure another assignment.
Progress is saved in this browser
You can close the page and come back — the wizard remembers where you stopped. Only the PDF file is not kept: if you come back to the template step, pick the file again. Start over clears the progress, but anything you already created stays in your organization.
FAQ
Does the wizard create anything before the last step?
Yes. A signature, registry type or template you create in a step is saved straight away. Skip for now and Start over do not delete anything.
I skipped the signature. How do I add it later?
Create it in Instructor signatures, then open the assignment in Certificate assignments and choose the signature there.
Can I run the wizard for several courses?
Yes. After finishing, click Configure another assignment. You can reuse the same signature, registry type and template.
