Offline Mode
No Wi-Fi on the shop floor? No problem. Skillsive headsets run assigned VR training fully offline — 30 days on most plans and up to 90 on Professional. Progress and results are saved on the device and sync automatically the next time it connects.
Offline mode is not a degraded fallback: the training scenario, its scoring and its lesson structure all run on the headset itself. The internet is needed for three things only — downloading course content, receiving what changed in the panel, and uploading the results.
The offline window is counted from the app's last connection, so a headset that is briefly online once a month never runs out. When it does reconnect, the completions recorded in the meantime upload in the background with no action from the trainee or the administrator.

How it works
Step 1: Connect once and download
Pair the headset with your organization over Wi-Fi and let it download the courses your plan covers. This is the only step that genuinely needs a connection.
Step 2: Take it where there is no network
Production halls, construction sites, client premises with locked-down guest Wi-Fi — the headset works without any network at all.
Step 3: Train normally
Trainees identify themselves and complete assigned courses as usual. Completions, scores and lesson history are written to the headset.
Step 4: Reconnect and sync
Back on Wi-Fi, the headset uploads everything in the background and picks up new content and settings. No manual synchronization step exists — or is needed.
What you get in the panel
Full training without a connection
Scenarios, scoring and lesson progression all run on the headset — an offline session is the same training as an online one.
Results kept on the device
Completions, scores and the lesson-by-lesson history are stored locally until they can be uploaded, so an unplanned month offline costs you nothing.
Automatic synchronization
Uploads happen in the background as soon as the headset has internet access. Neither the trainee nor the administrator has to trigger anything.
A window that fits your plan
Most plans allow 30 days from the last connection; Professional extends that to 90 days for fleets that spend months away from the office network.
Offline visible in the panel
The device list shows which headsets are offline and when each was last active, so you know which units are due for a sync before their window closes.
Offline-aware course building
When you assemble a custom course, the builder tells you whether the result works completely offline or requires a connection — before you send it to the headsets.
What it gives you
- Full VR training with no internet connection for up to 30 days, 90 on Professional
- Results and completions are stored safely on the headset until they can sync
- Train in production halls, construction sites and remote client locations
- No dedicated training network or guest Wi-Fi access required
- Synchronization is automatic — nothing to explain to the trainees
- The panel shows which headsets have been offline the longest
Who it's for
Manufacturing & industrial sites
Run training directly on the shop floor, where guest Wi-Fi is restricted or absent.
Construction & field teams
Bring headsets to remote sites and sync the results when crews return.
Mobile training providers
Deliver sessions at client locations without depending on their network.
Frequently asked questions
- How long can a headset work offline?
- 30 days on most plans and up to 90 days on the Professional plan. Within that window trainees start and complete assigned courses normally, with no connection at all.
- How is the offline period counted?
- From the app's last connection on that headset. Every time it goes online — even briefly — the window starts again.
- Will offline results be lost?
- No. Completions, scores and progress are stored on the headset and uploaded automatically as soon as the device reconnects.
- Do I have to trigger the synchronization manually?
- No. Synchronization happens automatically in the background when the headset gets internet access — no action is needed from the trainee or the administrator.
- Can I assign new courses while a device is offline?
- New content and changes download when the headset is online. Once loaded, everything on the device keeps working offline for the full window.
- Do all courses work offline?
- Most do. Some lessons need a connection or a microphone — when you assemble a custom course the builder states whether the course is available completely offline or requires internet.
