Fields tell Skillsive which data should be inserted into the PDF. You can add text fields, dates, numbers, instructor signature, stamp, trainee signature, and the QR code.

Common data sources
The most common fields are:
- participant full name,
- certificate number,
- certificate title,
- issue date,
- training completion date,
- expiry date,
- organization name,
- instructor signature,
- stamp,
- trainee signature.
QR code
The QR code is used to verify the certificate. Skillsive adds it to the template automatically.

Do not remove the QR code or cover it with other fields. You can move and resize it, but it must remain readable on the printed or downloaded certificate.
Trainee signature field
Adding the Trainee signature field changes certificate finalization.
After issuing, the certificate waits for the trainee signature. You can collect it during issuing or later from the certificate registry. Only after the trainee signs is the certificate finalized with a digital signature.
If you do not add this field, the certificate is finalized automatically after issuing.
Mapping PDF form fields
If the PDF already has form fields, you can map those existing PDF fields to Skillsive data sources instead of placing fields manually.
