A 3D simulation is a lesson from a VR training prepared to run in a web browser. You start it from the panel on a computer or a phone, with no app to install, and the result is saved as a completion, just like a session in a headset.
Who can use it
The 3D Simulations item appears in the side menu only when 3D simulations are enabled for your organization. The Skillsive team switches them on per organization — contact us if you want to try them. Today this is a pilot: the first simulations already work, new ones arrive every month, and the whole catalogue is planned to run in the browser in 2027.
What you need
- A computer with a mouse and keyboard, or a phone.
- A current browser that supports WebGPU or WebGL2. On a computer we recommend Chrome or Edge.
- Your account in the organization, signed in to the panel.
A VR headset is optional: in a headset's browser the simulation runs through WebXR.
Start a simulation
- 1In the side menu open 3D Simulations.
- 2Each card shows the course, the lesson, the approximate duration and the language.
- 3If the lesson exists in several languages, pick one in Lesson language.
- 4Click Start simulation.
- 5If the player shows Tap to start, tap or click it. Sound and full screen turn on after that tap.
Controls on a computer and a phone
- Computer: you control the simulation with the mouse and keyboard. The Full screen button enlarges the player.
- Phone: you control it by touch and look around by dragging a finger. The player can ask Look around by moving the phone? — choose Allow, and your phone then asks for access to its motion sensors. If you do not allow it, keep dragging a finger. Turn the phone sideways for a bigger view.
Where the result goes
When the simulation ends, the player shows Simulation completed. Your result has been saved. The result is saved as a completion: an Admin finds it in Completions next to headset sessions, and it counts towards certificates on the same rules. Back to the simulation list takes you back to the cards.
FAQ
The list says "No simulations to start yet". Why?
Simulations appear once they have a browser version and are included in your organization's subscription. New ones arrive every month.
The simulation did not load. What now?
Your browser may not support WebGPU or WebGL2. Try Chrome or Edge on a computer.
I see "Your session has expired". Is my result lost?
Sign in again so the result can be saved. Then start the simulation from the list again if needed.
Does a browser result count the same as a headset result?
Yes. It is a completion like any other and can lead to a certificate.
