Apple Vision Pro — specification and verdict
Apple Vision Pro uses micro-OLED panels and publishes 23 million pixels in total — notably not a per-eye figure. The 3660x3200 shown here is iFixit's teardown measurement, marked as such rather than passed off as Apple's own. It supports 90, 96, 100 and 120 Hz, tracks with six world-facing cameras, four eye-tracking cameras and a LiDAR sensor, and Apple publishes an interpupillary range of 51 to 75 mm without naming the mechanism. Apple publishes no field of view, and its 750–800 g figure includes the Light Seal and band — the 478 g shown here is UploadVR's measurement of the headset alone, with the battery a further 353 g on a cable.
For a training rollout the obstacles are practical rather than technical. Apple does not sell Vision Pro in Poland, which means no local warranty path and no straightforward invoicing. We could not confirm a vendor device-management or kiosk tier for visionOS from Apple's own specification page, so it is recorded here as absent rather than assumed. The Light Seal and its cushion are removable, so hygiene between users is at least solvable. The external battery on a cable is a genuine complication when a device changes hands every twenty minutes.
Treat Vision Pro as a demonstration or executive device, not as a fleet. If your goal is to train a workforce, the money buys several standalone headsets that people can share, clean and manage. If your goal is to show a board what high-end mixed reality feels like, nothing else here comes close.

Who this device is for
Vision Pro is a device for showing what spatial computing can look like, not for equipping a training room: at 3,499 USD per unit our own courses do not run on it, and visionOS is not the Android base the rest of our fleet tooling assumes. It earns its place where one or two units serve design review, remote collaboration or an executive demonstration — and where the eye tracking, which no Android headset in this catalogue matches, is the point rather than a bonus.
How it differs from its predecessor
Against the launch M2 model the changes are internal: the M5 chip, visionOS 26, and the Dual Knit Band that replaces the Solo Knit Band and is the reason a session can run longer. What did not change is the part that shapes a rollout — 478 g on the face plus an external battery on a cable, which is still the reason nobody wears one for a whole shift.
What is missing, and what the manufacturer does not publish
Apple publishes neither the per-eye resolution nor the headset weight, so both figures in our table come from third-party measurement and are marked as such. There is no vendor kiosk mode in our data, our training applications do not run on visionOS, and the battery is external — which is a fact about how the device is worn, not a specification footnote. For a fleet, add that every unit is tied to an Apple ID and the account model is the same as for a personal iPhone.

Apple Vision Pro — frequently asked questions
- Can Skillsive VR training courses run on Apple Vision Pro?
- No. Our courses are built for Android-based standalone XR, and visionOS is a different platform with a different application format — it is not a matter of porting a build. Where a client uses Vision Pro alongside Quest headsets, the practical answer today is Quest for the training itself and Vision Pro for review and presentation.
- Does the M5 Vision Pro fix the comfort problem of the original?
- Partly. The Dual Knit Band spreads the load better than the original Solo Knit Band and reviewers consistently report longer comfortable sessions, but the 478 g on the face and the tethered external battery are unchanged. Plan sessions in tens of minutes, not hours.
- What does Vision Pro's eye tracking offer that Quest 3 does not?
- Gaze is the primary input on visionOS — you look at a target and pinch — and it also drives foveated rendering. Quest 3 has no eye tracking at all, so gaze-based attention analytics are simply not available there; Quest Pro is the Meta device that has it.
