RayNeo Air 4 Pro — specification and verdict
The Air 4 Pro is RayNeo’s 2026 flagship viewer and the first of its kind to carry HDR10, backed by 98% DCI-P3, a 200,000:1 contrast ratio and a Pixelworks Vision 4000 processor that upscales ordinary video to HDR in real time. The audio is quad-speaker, tuned with Bang & Olufsen. It is the same 76-gram tethered body as the Air 3s Pro with the same 201-inch virtual screen, so what you pay the premium for is the image pipeline rather than the optics. Two caveats from RayNeo’s own pages: HDR10 works only from a listed set of hosts — iPhone, Mac, PC, Switch 2 and some consoles — and, uniquely in the Air family, RayNeo publishes no field of view for this model at all, in any unit or axis.
A media viewer, not a work platform. It runs no software of its own — RayNeo says the glasses "function as an external display without requiring Wi-Fi or an app for basic viewing" — and the Vision 4000 inside is a video processor, not an application chip. There is no SDK, no device management, no volume licensing and no B2B route on the page; developer.rayneo.com does not even resolve. For a workplace the honest use is what it is sold for: a large private screen on a laptop or handheld, with the caveat that HDR10, the reason to buy it, depends on the host being on RayNeo’s compatibility list.
The best image in RayNeo’s viewer line and the clearest generational step it has made — HDR10, 98% DCI-P3, ΔE under 2 and real-time SDR-to-HDR upscaling that nothing else in the family has. The gap that should stop a comparison shopper is the missing field of view: RayNeo publishes 47 degrees for both Air 3s models and, for this one, nothing at all, so the number that decides how big the screen feels cannot be checked against its own siblings. Be aware too that RayNeo’s own CES 2026 blog post contradicts this product’s specification table on five separate points, including claiming a battery the FAQ says does not exist.

Who this device is for
For someone who wants the best picture a tethered viewer can give and is buying it for film and games rather than for work. RayNeo says so plainly — "Wear the screen, live the scene", with the hosts named as iPhone 17, MacBook, PC, PS5, Steam Deck and Switch 2. The differentiator is the image pipeline: HDR10, 98% DCI-P3, ΔE under 2, and a Pixelworks Vision 4000 that lifts ordinary SDR video to HDR while you watch.
How it differs from its predecessor
Against the Air 3s Pro it shares the body, the weight, the 201-inch screen and even the 1200-nit figure, and adds everything about the picture: HDR10, the Vision 4000 processor, Bang & Olufsen tuning and AI 2D-to-3D as a hardware feature rather than an app one. Note that RayNeo labels the same 1200 nits "to-eye" on the Air 3s Pro and "peak" here, so the two are not proven equally bright. Against the XREAL 1S it is the opposite trade: brighter and with HDR, but with no screen anchoring at all where the 1S has native 3DoF.
What is missing, and what the manufacturer does not publish
RayNeo publishes no field of view for this model — no spec row, no badge, and the shared comparison payload blanks it — which is remarkable on an otherwise detailed table and makes it uncomparable even with its own siblings. Gamma, colour temperature, PPD and PPI are published for both Air 3s models and blanked for this one. There are no frame dimensions, no material and no IP rating. HDR10, the headline, is disclaimed down to a device whitelist. Two duplicate product pages exist for the same device with different IDs and review counts, so RayNeo has no canonical URL for it. And RayNeo’s own CES 2026 blog post contradicts the spec table on five checkable points — screen size, brightness levels, colour modes, prescription mechanism, and the existence of a battery — with dimensions that are internally impossible.

RayNeo Air 4 Pro — frequently asked questions
- Does the HDR10 support work with anything I plug in?
- No. RayNeo’s own disclaimer limits it: HDR10 "requires compatible source material and output devices, and is only supported on iPhone, Mac, PCs, Switch 2 and other gaming devices". Since HDR is the reason this model costs more than the Air 3s Pro, check your host against that list before paying the difference.
- Why is there no field of view in the table?
- Because RayNeo does not publish one. The specification table has no such row, the hero badge strip has no such tile, and the comparison data RayNeo ships for this product leaves the field blank. We will not carry the Air 3s or Air 3s Pro’s 47 degrees across — those are different products, and inventing the figure is exactly what this catalogue exists not to do.
