Iristick.G3 — specification and verdict

The G3 is the same idea brought up to date: 95 g, a brighter 640×400 monocular display quoted at up to 2000 nits, two centred cameras including a 3× optical zoom, and an IP54 rating on top of the eye-protection standards. It carries no battery at all — power comes over USB-C from the phone, so its runtime is the phone's runtime.

As with the G2 PRO, the application is a phone app using the Iristick SDK; the glasses are a peripheral. One detail matters for buying: the display eye, left or right, is fixed per unit when you order, so a fleet has to be specified rather than just counted.

The better Iristick if you are choosing today — brighter, better cameras, and one less battery to manage. It remains an assisted-reality tool for remote support and inspection, not a platform to deploy training scenarios to.

Who this device is for

The G3 is the current Iristick: 95 g of certified safety eyewear with a 640x400 monocular display at 2000 nits, driven by a phone. Same idea as the G2 PRO, brighter and sharper — for outdoor and high-glare work where the older display washed out.

How it differs from its predecessor

Against the G2 PRO it is sharper (640x400 against 426x240), brighter at 2000 nits, and carries a broader certification list including IP54 and EN 16321. It is 17 g heavier, which on eyewear is noticeable but rarely decisive.

What is missing, and what the manufacturer does not publish

Still phone-tethered, so nothing runs without the paired handset, and there is no vendor device management for the glasses themselves. No 6DoF tracking, no support for our applications, and Iristick publishes no release year or battery figure for this model in the material we cite.

What is the advantage of a 2000-nit display on industrial glasses?
Legibility outdoors. A monocular display at a few hundred nits disappears in daylight, which is where field-service work happens — 2000 nits is what keeps a work instruction readable on a substation yard or a rooftop in summer.
Which Iristick model should a new deployment choose?
The G3, unless price is decisive: it has the sharper, far brighter display and the wider certification list, for 17 g more. The G2 PRO remains a reasonable choice indoors, where the brightness difference matters least.
