DigiLens ARGO — specification and verdict
ARGO puts a 30-degree diagonal waveguide image at about 2,500 nits in front of a worker who still needs to see the machine behind it. That is enough for a checklist, a work order, a callout on a valve or a remote expert's arrow, and nowhere near enough for an immersive scene: it is a data overlay, not a simulator. A Snapdragon XR2 with 8 GB of RAM runs DigiOS, DigiLens' build of Android 12 AOSP, with 6DoF tracking from two cameras and a separate stabilised main camera for capture and remote assist. Input is deliberately hands-off — voice first, with five microphones for beamforming in noise. Our own VR courses do not run here and never will; ARGO is for guidance during the job, not for training before it.
The device was certified for Microsoft Intune in March 2024, so a fleet enrolls the same way phones and tablets already do — no separate console to buy or learn. DigiOS ships over-the-air updates and DigiLens sells prescription inserts and alternative head straps directly, which matters because a plant will need both. The 6 Wh battery runs roughly two hours and is hot-swappable, so a full shift means budgeting spare cells and a charging point, not a longer cable. In Europe you go through partners such as Synergiz rather than a web shop, and DigiLens publishes no list price at all, so every deployment starts with a quote.
Buy it if you are replacing HoloLens 2 on the shop floor and need something Intune can manage today. Do not buy it as a training headset: at 30 degrees diagonal there is no immersion to train in, and our courses require a standalone VR device. For those, pair ARGO with a separate VR headset rather than trying to make one device do both.

Who this device is for
Maintenance, field service and quality teams who need drawings, procedures and a remote expert while both hands stay on the equipment, in places where an IP65 and ANSI Z87.1 rated device is a condition of entry. Not for classroom or induction training.
What is missing, and what the manufacturer does not publish
DigiLens publishes its ARGO spec sheet only as an image on its own site, so per-eye resolution, exact weight and dimensions cannot be read from a machine-readable manufacturer source, and the only weight figure VRcompare carries is flagged there as an estimate, so we list no weight at all. Sources also disagree on two headline numbers: 8 GB of RAM and 2,500 nits per VRcompare against 12 GB and over 3,500 nits on the EMEA partner's datasheet, and MIL-STD-810G on that datasheet against 810H at launch — we list neither MIL-STD grade for that reason. No price is published anywhere.
DigiLens ARGO — frequently asked questions
- Can DigiLens ARGO replace HoloLens 2 after Microsoft ends support?
- That is exactly what DigiLens is selling. Its ARGO Next program, announced on 7 October 2025, targets HoloLens 2 fleets before that device goes unsupported after 31 December 2027, and keeps the existing Microsoft cloud infrastructure in place with Altoura Frontline standing in for Dynamics 365 Guides and Remote Assist. It is a migration path for a workflow, not a like-for-like hardware swap: ARGO shows a 30-degree diagonal image and is driven mainly by voice.
- Does DigiLens ARGO work with Microsoft Intune?
- Yes. ARGO was certified for Microsoft Intune in March 2024, which means an IT department can enroll, secure and update the glasses from the same console it already uses for phones and laptops, and DigiOS delivers updates over the air. That is unusual in this class of AR hardware and is often the reason ARGO gets shortlisted at all.
- Do Skillsive VR training courses run on DigiLens ARGO?
- No. Our courses are immersive standalone VR applications, and ARGO is a see-through AR device with a 30-degree diagonal waveguide — there is no scene to be inside. Use ARGO for guidance and remote assistance during the work itself, and run the training on a standalone VR headset alongside it.
