The Skillsive update of 23 October is about online courses: the panel gets a new online courses catalog, and the first narrated lessons arrive next to it. Here is what changed and how to use it.
A new online courses catalog
The online courses catalog helps you find a course when there are many. A short "To do" list with deadlines and progress stays at the top of the page. Below it you get topics with course counts, a search by title and description, and filters for level and status.
Selected filters are saved in the page address, so a link opens the same view, and going back from a course returns to the filtered list. On a phone the topics are a dropdown list. A general overview of topics is also on the public Online courses page.
Eight "AI at work" courses
The panel now has eight courses about working with AI: from the basics and safe handling of company data, through writing prompts and working with files, to connectors, agents and Claude Code. Each has a final test and a completion certificate, and the content is available in five languages.
The courses carry a "Preview version" label. Lessons and the test already work; videos, narration and interactive exercises will follow. The check questions inside lessons are interactive: you pick an answer, click "Check" and only then see the result with an explanation. Technical terms are explained in plain words the first time they appear.
Narrated lessons
The new lesson type looks like a short film. A narrator reads each slide, and key phrases and graphics appear exactly when they are mentioned. You move through slides yourself or switch on automatic advancing. There is pause, narrator mute, playback speed, subtitles and a full transcript.
Every few slides there is a short task: choosing an answer, "myth or fact" cards, sorting into groups or putting steps in order. At the end a "Lesson completed" card leads to the next lesson or the test.
The first course in this format is "Smoking at work": 14 lessons of about a minute each plus a final test, Polish only for now, as a preview version.
3D simulations on a phone
EHS Academy 3D simulations now run on a phone as well. You start a lesson with a tap, walk with a joystick, look around with a finger or by moving the phone, and pick up objects with a tap. The lithium-ion battery lesson takes place in a realistic warehouse, and on a computer you walk with the W A S D keys. The feature is enabled for selected organizations for now.
Smaller changes
Dialogs in the panel, such as "Assign features", fit on a phone screen, with the "Save" and "Cancel" buttons always in view. On slow connections the side menu and panel pages show grey loading bars instead of technical labels.
Where to start
Open the online courses tab in the panel and assign a course to a group. VR courses are in the application catalog, the platform is described on the VR LMS page, and tips are in the Help Center. The previous update is covered in the post on the learner date of birth.
