Sightful Spacetop G1 — specification and verdict
Spacetop G1 was a keyboard chassis with a pair of birdbath AR glasses hardwired to it, running Sightful's own SpaceOS instead of Windows or Android. Each eye got 1920x1080 at 90 Hz across roughly 50 degrees diagonal, which is enough for text windows floating above the keyboard and far too little for an immersive training scene. Compute was a Snapdragon QCS8550 with 16 GB of LPDDR5, two tracking cameras for 6DoF window anchoring, stereo speakers and a quoted eight hours of battery. For training the important fact is not the specification but the platform: SpaceOS was closed, there was no APK path, and the intended use was reading documents in privacy on a plane, not putting a trainee inside a scenario.
There is nothing to deploy. Sightful cancelled Spacetop G1 on 8 October 2024, refunded the $100 pre-order deposits, and stopped making hardware, so no fleet of these exists in Poland, Germany or anywhere else. No vendor MDM, kiosk mode or enterprise licence programme was ever offered for the device. What Sightful sells today is Spacetop for Windows, an $899 licence that puts the same spatial workspace on an NPU-equipped Windows laptop paired with Xreal glasses; that is a knowledge-worker tool bought per seat, not a training platform with device management. If you already own an early Spacetop unit, treat it as unsupported hardware and budget nothing further against it.
Do not plan anything around Spacetop G1: it never reached customers and Sightful has left the hardware business. If the goal is a private big-screen workspace, the successor Spacetop for Windows on a laptop you already own is the honest path. If the goal is VR safety training, this whole product line is the wrong shelf; buy a standalone Android VR headset instead.

Who this device is for
Of interest only to people researching why AR laptops did not happen, or to the handful of early Spacetop owners deciding whether their unit has a future. Nobody procuring hardware in 2026 should be evaluating it, and no training department should have it on a shortlist: a 50-degree, 1920x1080-per-eye viewer on a closed OS cannot run our courses at all.
What is missing, and what the manufacturer does not publish
Because Sightful's site no longer mentions the G1, the entire specification is second-hand and the maker's own page cannot be checked against it. Weight, materials and screen brightness are flagged as estimates by our source, so they are absent here rather than guessed, and even the price disagrees between sources: $1,900 in the cancellation coverage against $1,700 in the spec aggregator. Nothing is published about certifications, warranty length or an end-of-support date, because support for a product that never shipped was never defined.
