INMO Air 2 — specification and verdict
The Air 2 puts a 640x400 micro-OLED image per eye through a reflective waveguide with a 26-degree field of view. That is enough for a notification, a line of translated speech or a teleprompter script, and not enough for a training slide, a diagram or a procedure checklist. The platform is IMOS 2.0 on a 4-core 1.8 GHz Ziguang Zhanrui chip with 2 GB of RAM, so it is not a VR runtime and our courses do not run on it. A 500 mAh battery gives roughly two hours before the pogo-pin charger, which is a session, not a shift.
There is no fleet path here. INMO does not offer an MDM or kiosk mode, the IMOS app store shipped effectively empty, and the Air 2 no longer appears in INMO's own product list, which is now Air 3 and GO 3 only. Buying spares in Poland or Germany means grey-market stock rather than a distributor with a warranty, and the charger is a proprietary magnetic pogo-pin dock, not USB-C, so every lost cable is a sourcing problem. The INMO Ring is a separate purchase on top of the roughly 550 USD launch price.
Do not buy the Air 2 for training. It was a 550 USD consumer HUD in 2023, it is off INMO's store in 2026, and at 26 degrees it cannot show instructional content. If you want glasses for shop-floor notifications, look at a current AR product with a live support channel; if you want VR courses, buy a standalone VR headset.

Who this device is for
Only really for someone who already owns a fleet of Air 2 units and wants to know what they can still do with them: subtitles, translation, a teleprompter, phone screen mirroring. Anyone specifying hardware now should treat this as a reference entry rather than a shortlist candidate.
What is missing, and what the manufacturer does not publish
INMO never published brightness in nits, dimensions, storage or a certification list for the Air 2, and the product page itself omits RAM, weight and battery. The 99 g weight and the 500 mAh cell come from a distributor sheet and a review, not INMO. Sources also disagree on two basics: VRcompare lists USB Type-C and one Ring in the box, while INMO sells the Ring as an accessory and the review describes a proprietary pogo-pin charger. There is no announced discontinuation date and no end-of-support date.
INMO Air 2 — frequently asked questions
- Can you run Skillsive VR training courses on INMO Air 2?
- No. The Air 2 is a 26-degree waveguide HUD running IMOS 2.0, not an Android VR runtime, and our courses are stereoscopic VR applications. There is also no MDM or kiosk mode to deploy them with. Use a standalone VR headset for the courses and keep the Air 2 for notifications and translation.
- Is INMO Air 2 still sold in 2026, or did the Air 3 replace it?
- INMO's own store no longer lists it: the current line-up is the Air 3 and the GO 3 plus their accessories. We record the Air 2 as discontinued as of this check on 2026-08-10. INMO has published no discontinuation notice and no end-of-support date, so treat firmware and spare-part availability as unsupported.
- What can you actually read on the INMO Air 2's 640x400 display?
- Short text: a notification, one or two lines of live translation, a teleprompter feed, navigation arrows. A 640x400 panel spread over 26 degrees has no room for a slide, a schematic or a checklist, and the reflective waveguide passes up to 85 percent of ambient light, so bright surroundings wash the image out further.
