Apple Vision Pro (M2) — specification and verdict
This is the Vision Pro that arrived in February 2024, and Apple keeps a separate tech-spec page for it. The pairing is the M2 with the R1 sensor coprocessor, feeding micro-OLED panels Apple describes only as 23 million pixels — the 3660x3200 per eye shown here is iFixit's teardown of this revision, marked as such. Supported refresh rates stop at 100 Hz, which is the cleanest line between this unit and the M5 one: Apple lists 90, 96 and 100 Hz here, and adds 120 Hz there. Interpupillary range is 51 to 75 mm, storage came in 256 GB, 512 GB and 1 TB, and Apple quotes up to two hours of general use from the tethered battery. Apple's own weight is 600 to 650 g including the Light Seal and band; the 478 g here is a measurement of the headset alone.
Nothing about a rollout changed between the revisions, because none of the obstacles were about performance. visionOS is not Android, so our courses do not run on it — that is a platform fact, not a verdict on the hardware. Apple does not sell Vision Pro in Poland, so there is no local warranty path and no straightforward invoicing, and we could not confirm a vendor device-management or kiosk tier from Apple's specification page for this unit. What owning one does still buy is a supported device: it launched with the Solo Knit Band and Dual Loop Band in the box, the Light Seal and cushions come off for cleaning, and ZEISS Optical Inserts remain the route for glasses wearers.
If your company already has one of these, treat it as the demonstration device it always was: excellent for showing a board what high-end mixed reality feels like, unusable as a training fleet. Do not go looking for one second-hand for training purposes — the money buys several standalone headsets that our courses actually run on, that people can share and clean, and that a Polish invoice covers.

Who this device is for
This is the launch Vision Pro, the M2 model that Apple sold from 2024 and replaced in 2025. It belongs on this list because plenty of companies bought one and still have it — the page is here to say what it can do and where it now stands, not to sell it. Our courses do not run on visionOS, so its role stays evaluation, review and demonstration.
How it differs from its predecessor
Against the M5 revision it is the same optics, the same 478 g and the same external battery, with the older chip, visionOS without the newest features and the Solo Knit Band that reviewers consistently name as the comfort limit. The M5 refresh changed the band and the silicon; everything that shapes a rollout stayed put.
What is missing, and what the manufacturer does not publish
Apple publishes neither per-eye resolution nor weight, so both come from third-party measurement. There is no vendor device management in our data, no support for our training applications, and — since 2025 — no new units: this revision is discontinued, and a replacement means either a second-hand M2 or the M5 model at full price.

- How do I tell an M2 Vision Pro from the M5 model?
- By the chip and the head strap. The M2 shipped from 2024 with the Solo Knit Band; the 2025 refresh has the M5 chip and the Dual Knit Band, and runs visionOS 26 features the older unit gets only partially. The display, the 478 g and the external battery are identical.
- Is a second-hand M2 Vision Pro sensible for a company?
- Only as a demonstration or evaluation unit. Our training courses do not run on visionOS at all, there is no vendor fleet management in our data, and Apple discontinued this revision in 2025 — so it is a device to show spatial computing with, not one to train on.
