Skyworth Pancake 1 Pro — specification and verdict
The Pancake 1 Pro pairs 2280x2280 per eye behind pancake lenses with a mini-LED backlight, 90 Hz and a 95-degree diagonal field of view, so text panels in a training scene are legible but the visible world stays narrow. The visor itself is 189 g and the counterweighted retractable halo strap brings the whole thing to 450 g, which is why a trainee can keep it on through a long module. Interpupillary distance adjusts mechanically between 60 and 68 mm and each eye has its own 0-5 dioptre dial, so most short-sighted trainees can leave their glasses off. Four cameras handle inside-out 6DoF and also provide the passthrough, which VRcompare records as greyscale rather than colour. Eye tracking is present; articulated hand tracking is not documented, so both hands stay on the 6DoF controllers.
There is nothing to deploy: the device runs SkyOS on the Skyworth VR Assistant runtime, and Skyworth's site now lists only Pancake 1, Pancake 1C, three 3DoF models and the A1 glasses. No fleet-management or kiosk product is offered to a new customer, and no enterprise licensing programme is published. Skyworth has never published a price for the Pro, and it has no distributor presence in Poland or Germany, so a fleet would have to be imported unit by unit with no warranty path. Storage is fixed at 128 GB with no card slot, and the fabric facial interface is not sold as a swappable hygiene part.
Do not buy it for training. It was an interesting piece of 2022 hardware, but it is off Skyworth's own product page, our Android courses have no store or sideload path on the Skyworth VR Assistant runtime, and there is no fleet tooling behind it. If the 189 g pancake form factor is what attracts you, buy a current standalone headset with a published enterprise programme instead.

Who this device is for
Nobody running a training programme today. The record is here for buyers who found a Pancake 1 Pro in an old procurement list or a grey-market listing and need to know that the model is gone from Skyworth's line-up, that no price was ever published, and that its 6 GB Snapdragon XR2 Gen 1 platform is two generations behind.
What is missing, and what the manufacturer does not publish
The manufacturer page in our source (skyworthxr.com/hardware.html?id=5) now returns 404, so not one figure here could be raised to a first-party source. Two disagreements stand: VRcompare's structured field calls the passthrough greyscale while its own description and XR Daily News describe full colour from two added RGB cameras, and strapped weight is given as 450 g by VRcompare and 436 g by XR Daily News. Skyworth published no price, no battery runtime for the 5500 mAh cell, no certifications, and no discontinuation or support-end date, so those fields are empty rather than guessed. VRcompare flags hand tracking as an estimate, so we record it as absent.
Skyworth Pancake 1 Pro — frequently asked questions
- Is the Skyworth Pancake 1 Pro still sold?
- No. Skyworth's own site now lists Pancake 1 and Pancake 1C on the 6DoF side, plus three 3DoF models and the A1 AR glasses, and the Pro is not among them; the product page our source recorded for it returns 404. Skyworth has published neither a discontinuation date nor an end-of-support date, so anything you find on sale is old stock with no defined support window.
- Can Skillsive VR training courses run on the Pancake 1 Pro's SkyOS?
- No. SkyOS is Android-based, but the device ships against the Skyworth VR Assistant runtime and Skyworth offers no enterprise distribution, MDM or kiosk mode that would let us push a course build to a fleet. With no supported sideload path and no vendor tooling, we treat it as outdated hardware and recommend a current standalone headset instead.
- What does the Pancake 1 Pro's eye tracking actually do?
- Skyworth's stated use for the eye cameras was iris recognition for unlocking the headset, account login and payments, reported by XR Daily News alongside the two added mixed-reality cameras.
