Rokid Max 2 — specification and verdict
The Max 2 weighs 75 g, at the light end of this class, with 1920×1080 micro-OLED per eye, 50°, up to 600 nits, and a dioptre dial from 0.00D to −6.00D that covers most short-sightedness without inserts. Plugged into a laptop or console it is a straightforward mirrored screen.
The 3DoF anchoring appears only inside Rokid's own software — its belt-worn puck or its phone application — so on a plain USB-C source the screen simply follows your head. Nothing installs on the glasses, and any Android application would live on the puck or the phone.

Who this device is for
The Rokid Max 2 is a 75 g pair of display glasses aimed at travel and personal viewing: 50 degrees, 600 nits and a diopter adjustment that lets many short-sighted users wear them without inserts. It suits video and a portable second screen; it runs no application of its own and our courses do not run on it.
How it differs from its predecessor
Against the XREAL One it is comparable in field of view and lighter, and it lacks an anchoring chip, so screen stability depends on what it is plugged into. Against the Rokid AR Spatial, the Max 2 is the display half of that package — the Spatial adds the Station puck and Android on top.
What is missing, and what the manufacturer does not publish
No camera, no on-board platform, no device management and no support for our applications. At 600 nits it is on the dim side of this class for outdoor use. Rokid does publish the display figures — 1920x1200 per eye at 60 to 120 Hz — but the glasses default to 1920x1080 until you raise it in settings, and 3DoF still means the image follows your head unless host software says otherwise.

Rokid Max 2 — frequently asked questions
- Do Rokid Max 2 glasses work for people who wear glasses?
- Often yes without inserts: the Max 2 has a built-in dioptre adjustment for short-sightedness, which is unusual in this class and removes a per-person purchase. Astigmatism still needs a prescription insert, as it does on every pair of display glasses here.
- What is the Rokid Station and do I need one?
- A small Android box that plugs into the glasses so they work without a phone or laptop — which is the difference between a display and a self-contained device. You do not need one if you always have a USB-C phone with DisplayPort output, and you do if you want the glasses to be the whole setup.
