Play For Dream MR — specification and verdict
Play For Dream MR is what happens when a small maker aims straight at Apple Vision Pro and keeps Android underneath. The panels are micro-OLED at 3840 x 3552 per eye behind pancake lenses with a 103-degree field of view at 90 Hz, and the interpupillary adjustment is automatic across 51 to 78 mm — the widest range here, which matters more in a shared fleet than any pixel count. Eye-tracking cameras, a depth camera and colour pass-through are on board, two 6DoF controllers are in the box, and custom magnetic prescription lenses are supported. The maker publishes 650 g including the headband battery, so the headset-only column stays empty rather than showing a total that would not compare with anything else here.
Treat this as a specialist purchase, not a fleet one, for three separate reasons. First, the platform: it runs the maker's own fork of Android, not Horizon OS or PICO OS, so our courses are recorded as not running on it — untested, not impossible. Second, the channel: there is exactly one, the maker's own store, and it currently shows the headset as sold out with a notify-me link rather than a delivery date. Third, there is no business tier at all — no device management, no kiosk mode, no enterprise licensing, and a warranty handled by email with the buyer paying return shipping up front. What it is very good at is wireless PC VR, which is how most owners use it.
If somebody in your organisation wants Vision Pro image quality for simulation work driven by a PC, this is the cheapest honest route to it and the reviews back that up. For training that has to be deployed, managed and repaired across a fleet, none of the practical machinery exists — one shop, no management layer, no local service. Buy it as an evaluation device with your eyes open, not as the platform a programme depends on.

Average pixel density is our own arithmetic: panel pixels divided by the field of view on the same axis. It is the standard approximation, and it runs lower than a published peak figure because a lens packs pixels denser at the centre.
Who this device is for
Play For Dream MR is a curiosity with a serious panel: 3840x3552 per eye on micro-OLED, an Android base and eye tracking, for around half of what Vision Pro costs. Our courses do not run on it and there is no fleet management, so it belongs in an evaluation programme rather than a training hall — but it is the sharpest Android device in this catalogue.
How it differs from its predecessor
Against Samsung Galaxy XR it is a similar idea from a much smaller manufacturer: comparable micro-OLED sharpness and eye tracking for a few hundred dollars less, without Android XR, without Google's platform and without a support organisation of that size. Against Quest 3 it is four times the price for a far better image and a fraction of the ecosystem.
What is missing, and what the manufacturer does not publish
No device management, no enterprise licensing and no support for our training applications. The manufacturer's own specification sheet gives only the 650 g total weight including the headband battery — the 288 g visor-only figure here is a maker claim relayed by UploadVR, not a published spec — and it states neither the RAM nor a battery runtime nor a to-eye brightness. The comfort of the stock strap is the most consistent complaint in the reviews. Support and warranty for a European buyer are the real risk here, more than any specification.

- As an evaluation device, yes; as a fleet, no. It has the sharpest display of any Android headset here, but no vendor device management, no enterprise licensing, and a small manufacturer behind it — which for a European buyer means warranty and support are the open questions, not the specification.
