Halliday G2 — specification and verdict
The G2 puts a small binocular micro-LED image in front of both eyes at 25.2 degrees and up to 1600 nits, rated IP54, with about twelve hours of use. It is sold for live professional conversation: captions, translation and notes appearing in your line of sight, and it deliberately has no camera.
Everything runs in Halliday's own phone application, and the company states plainly that the G2 does not integrate with third-party assistants, agents or external models. That is as closed as this comparison gets — there is no path for anyone else's software, ours included.
A neat answer to one specific problem: reading what the other person just said, in a meeting, without looking down. Not a work-instruction device — no camera means no remote expert and no photo record — and Halliday publishes neither a weight nor a shipping country list, which is worth asking about before ordering.

Who this device is for
The Halliday G2 puts a tiny 600x300 waveguide in the top of the frame, so the display sits above your line of sight rather than in it — you glance up rather than through. With twelve hours of battery and a phone doing everything, it is aimed at all-day wear for notifications, translation and prompts.
How it differs from its predecessor
Against the Even G2 it is the same idea with the display in a different place and a closed application model, so what it does is what Halliday's app offers. Against the Meta Ray-Ban Display it is cheaper, camera-free and far less capable — and far easier to wear into a room where cameras are not welcome.
What is missing, and what the manufacturer does not publish
A closed platform: no third-party applications, no SDK in our data, no device management, and our courses do not run on it. Halliday publishes no release year and no display refresh rate in the material we cite, and independent review coverage is dominated by material the company itself distributes.

- How does the Halliday display above the line of sight work in practice?
- The waveguide sits in the upper part of the frame, so information appears when you glance up rather than overlapping what you are looking at. It is less immersive than a centred display and less distracting — which is the argument for it during a conversation or while walking.
- Can developers build applications for the Halliday G2?
- Not in our data: it is a closed platform, so the functionality is whatever Halliday's own app provides. If building something yourself matters, the open options in this class are Brilliant Labs Frame and the Android-based RayNeo X3 Pro.
